๐ Project Overview
The Beauty Parlour Management System (BPMS) is a web-based application designed to digitize and simplify the daily operations of a beauty parlour. Customers can register and log in, browse services with their prices and images, book appointments by selecting dates and times, make online payments through the eSewa or Khalti sandbox integration, and communicate with the parlour through the chat system.
The administrative dashboard lets the admin manage services, approve or reject appointments, generate invoices, monitor payments and sales, view customer enquiries, and reply to customer messages.
The customer dashboard includes a personalized "Your Top Services" section that displays the services a customer books most frequently, with a one-click "Book Again" option. It also shows popup reminders for accepted appointments scheduled within the next 60 minutes (Nepal time). The chat system includes a Parlour Assistant that automatically replies to customer messages using predefined rules, while the admin can still reply manually. These features rely on database queries and rule-based logic, so they do not require a paid AI API.
The project was initially developed using PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS and JavaScript as a BCA fourth-semester project at Tribhuvan University. During the fifth semester, additional features were added: online payment integration, personalized service recommendations based on appointment history, appointment reminders, and an automatic chat response feature.
The project includes a ready-to-import database with sample data and complete documentation, making it easy to set up, run, test and understand.
